SoE incorporates new vocabulary! - 11-08-2003 11:57 PM - by Minimeatz
Agony took some heavy plunges into the Xegony script today. Let me add that there was another guild with 60-70 people fluctuating also in the zone, so as you can imagine the lag with 130 people in the zone was less than desired.
During the event (which yes, we were in the zone for 7+ hours), the spawn timers got severely messed up due to the mad lag. This of course can cause the event to go haywire, but even with that, we still stuck with it getting better and better, lag aside.
Now here's where things get exciting... the other guild decided after doing the Plane of Air rings, that they wanted Xegony, and since we had been there so long, we should just let them have the mob.
Of course, as with all crap incidents guides or GM's sometimes get involved, which is exactly what happened.
It turns out that SOE has incorporated some new english words into their vocabulary, which you can clearly see in this image:

What exactly is a CKBlock? Could you be a little more specific? Or better yet maybe take 2 seconds to come to the zone and SEE what the hell we're doing? Do you even know how the event works? Do you realize its a 30+ minute event from the time the mob is pulled?
So I decided to play along with Mr. Guides language game, and replied accordingly.
Now the most jacked up part about this entire thing was that the GM was actually going to port my entire guild out of the zone, port the other guild in, allow them to have their chance, and if they failed, port our guild back.
Since when has porting guilds around to attempt mobs been part of the policy? Or better yet, porting them to a location that they were not even at themselves? Hrm... whats with the GM's these days?
Regardless, the opposing guild was asked to leave so we could have a fair run at Xegony. Which turned out to be the most productive of our attempts when the zone became lag free. Although time got the best of us, and we were tired (you would be too after 7 hours of frustration and ghosting mobs, laggy timers and screwy cheal chains) so we made a couple lag-free attempts, nearly beating the beotch, then decided to call it a night.
Xegony will fall soon.... |
