The tabard change... Round 2! - 03-12-2005 8:24 AM - by Veratu
If you read my previous update, you'll clearly see that my petition had nothing to do with Blizzards response. So I decided, what the heck a simple mistake was made on their part, I'll re-submit my ticket asking for help.
So I wrote a new petition, except this time I noted what I said, so I can put it here in the update... now I've got an above average IQ, I'm fairly well educated, and I'm pretty sure what I wrote a monkey could figure out, but I'll let you judge it.
---
My Question: "I made a mistake creating the guild tabard, I mis-clicked purple on our trim instead of red. Our guild has been around 5+ years in MMO's, and our colors are red/black, can someone please fix the purple trim, to be red."
I mean thats pretty straight forward, right? Change one color to another color because I'm a goofball who selected the wrong color... you'd think this would be easy. Well here's todays GM answer, yet another brilliant one on their payroll.
BlizzRep: "This is not something we are able to reimburse money for, I'm sorry for the inconvenience."
---
Now clearly in my request I said give me my money back. Its becoming more and more obvious as days go on that the GM's are playing a game of Russian Roulette when it comes to answering petitions. Spin the barrel, and reply with whatever macro response comes out, you have a 1 in 8 chance you'll get the bullet, which is actually the fix you need.
I'll just keep spinning the barrel until someone who has passed Reading Comprehension 101 replies with an answer related to what my question was.

Wow.. (literally) ... I thought SoE was bad, but this is pathetic... - 03-11-2005 6:45 PM - by Veratu
I'm a big supporter of Blizzard, not just because of the quality of their releases, but because I've had some affiliates inside for several years so I know how they operate as a company and I hold a high respect for them.
However, as time continues on, coming from a significantly technical background, my respect for their ability to provide good customer service and a solid product with World of Warcraft is dwindling.
Today is no exception... as many of you know, through the 5+ years of Agony history our guild colors have always been Red and Black. Now, I'll be the first to admit that I made a poor mistake in selecting Purple/Black on our guild tabard. So despite my mistake, I e-mailed Blizzard in hopes that they could fix my mistake and make it red. I got a response back that the only way they could even consider a fix is if I used the in-game petition system.
So I decided to login, and write a nice, well written explanation stating I made a mistake choosing the color on our tabard and it was supposed to be Red, not Purple. I made sure I petitioned under the "Guild" related issues, just like the tech support rep told me via e-mail. I mean, the letter was so straight forward, a monkey (who obviously has a higher IQ than the GM that responded to me) could have seen what I had done, and either chosen to fix it, or written me back saying they didn't allow any Tabard changes.
Well... I'll let the picture speak for itself.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see where I'm going with this one... but even I must admit, in the 5+ years Agony and I have been involved with SoE in EverQuest, despite some of their poor choices in Customer Service, they managed to at least provide us an explanation closely related to the topic we originally requested help with.
Blizzard... you seriously need to get the "canned" response crap in order, because this is just downright unbelievable.
