Many guilds like to play the numbers game, or the racing game... who killed what mob first, or who killed it faster, or in less total time. Well, Agony has proven many times that once we get focused we can overcome any game challenge, and Molten Core was no different.

6 weeks ago we spawned Ragnaros and watched the script. We made no effort to fight him, but merely wanted to see what he did. Over the next few weeks we tossed our bodies at him 1 night a week for a couple of hours learning how the script worked and all the phases that happen. 2 weeks ago we nearly beat him, bringing him down to 22% with no potions, no scrolls, and no stat modifiers other than the normal class based buffs. This was part of our strategy, get him as low as we possibly could with no additional aid, then once we've mastered that we'll load up on the goodies and make an attempt.

Tonight that's what happened, we loaded up on potions and dps modifiers and decided to see just how difficult it was with the enhanced effects, and it was no surprise that we destroyed him like we had done it 100 times before... with only 5 deaths total for the entire event, better than some guilds do even after beating him for weeks on end.

Total number of attempts on Ragnaros while learning the script was just under 20, from the first spawn to the moment his hammer fell upon the lava in front of us... and I couldn't be more proud of the team. They've really stepped up and brought the old school raiding habits of our guild into this game, and prevailed yet again...
