Remagi's post made me chuckle, but the fact that Adrie totally ignored it in her following post made me laugh harder.

I remember reading about these as a kid. Isn't the spider still alive, just paralyzed when the larvae hatch and start eating? And if I remember right isn't the mama wasp already dead by then? Regardless that's a pretty evil looking critter. Did you let it sting you to make a pain comparison? :)

Even in the states some bike events aren't blocked off very well. When we were on tour up in Colorado and driving through arapaho pass we had to pass right through some sort of giant bike event. Mountain passes, two way traffic, about 1500 bikers, and a 15 passenger van w/trailer and 400k miles... F...

Wasn't Omega Man one of, if not the first attempt to put this book from the 50's on screen? I read a little about the book when they were promoting the movie, but I normally wait till I see the movie before I read the book or i'm almost always disappointed.

That cartoon directly affected my future love for cars and all things fast. I agree with Rem. It looks absolutely horrid but I'm sure I'll still end up seeing it :)

True enough. We were doing 90 on the motorway and were passed by a family of 5 in the smallest car I'd ever seen. It wasn't quite a SMART car, but it was damn close.

And don't even get me started on the SMART cars. You can pick those damn things up and carry them with you in lieu of parking.

I've been on those magic mushrooms in england. Our first trip over there I was the lucky driver at the wheel when we encountered the one in Swindon. It was unnerving to say the least. Even the locals referred to it as "a total mind fuck of a roundabout".

My favorite is still the guy who knocked himself cold trying to throw a brick through a plexiglass store front window. I think that one was actually caught on tape.

Wow. I am looking forward to trying this on some of my bebop tunes. For you jazz fans, I can only imagine what surfing at 300+ bpm on a tune like anthropology or cherokee might be like...

I am very old. FUCK that! I'm 34, and I am not old. John McCain is old, and his mother is even older (and still alive). Just because you aren't a little, snot-nosed, college aged, know-it-all kid, that doesn't make you old! Did you recently have a birthday? I was pretty sure we were the same age, b...

I'm not terribly up to date on all this, but I can tell you this about health care in a certain other country... I know a girl from Sweden that's here in the states to study at a local university. She ended up getting pregnant on a visit home with her old boyfriend. Her parents are very well off, an...

Though i do think all children under the age of 16 should receive free health care, after that they are old enough to take care of them selves or have there local social structure do it for them. 16? Wow. I would have been S.O.L. in high school when I kept getting sports related injuries. Not to me...
