			Empirical philosophy posits that things are true based on evidence derived from the senses.  Since I have neither seen, smelt, heard, touched, or tasted a Canadian River, one has yet to exist.  Your assertion of swiss cheese-esque geological structures rampant through Canada reminds me of the movie "Tremors" starring the underrated Michael Gross.  You wouldn't happen to be borrowing mythology would you?
