I've seen situations where people have actually been brought up on charges for shooting someone that broke into their home. Some states have crazy rules like, you must make every effort to flee your attacker before using deadly force. Its fucking bullshit, but its the law in some places.

Yeah, in NC it is better to shoot them as they're breaking in as opposed to after they gain entry.
