help oh guru of computer knowledge

got a problem. and hoping someone might know how to fix it.
i bought this laptop. sony vaio. well it comes with nortons antivirus. dont know how exactly. but nortons locked up on me. suddenly i can only access the internet through firefox. try to log onto world of warcraft and it says i dont have authorization to do that. so i try to log onto nortons to change the settings. but everytime i load nortons it freezes up and doesnt do anything.... so basically nortons locked up my computer and wont let me go in and fix it. locked my out of my computer..... any ideas?
currently ive tryed to delete nortons, says i cant do that. tryed to open it every way possible. called there customer service hotline who were kind enough to tell me they dont know what the problem is and then hang up. there website is about as helpful as a butter knife when you want to eat cereal...any help would be greatfully appreciated. thanks in advance =) teh noob shim!
