Sapphiron, that's one of the bosses from a Final Fantasy game right?

sapphiron is a dragon you take control of in wc3:tft in a mission there's a spot int he ne corner you can go to and you kill the frost dragon sapphiron and then use her corpse to serve your will.

Yep, the original frost wyrm - at least campaign wise. Kill the elder dragon for the sole purpose of taking his treasure, then as an added insult, raising it as the undead so that it knows it's situation, but is helpless to do anything but serve the lich king.
It looked like the spell was death and decay that Kel'Thuzad cast - similiar animation to it anyway. D&D was a spell that drained a % of your life every second.
