Fuck yeah.

If you like hard-core acoustic players, check out:

Michael Hedges (RIP)
Michael Montgomery
Steve Kaufman
Brad "Buster" Jones

And for crazy shit non acoustic, Steve Vai still gets my vote. Although he can't write very good music, he plays it like nobodys business.

Classic movie even if it does have the karate kid in it (Vai plays most of the guitar, along with Ry Cooder, also a genius - the Karate Kid probably plays about as well as I do).

for acoustic stuff I definitely dig Michael Hedges, Monte Montgomery (know and used to hang with this guy in Austin and he's incredible) and a guy I can't remember the name of at the moment....he was on Satch, Vai and Johnson's first g3 tour...he is awesome and has stop-pegs on his tuners to simulate steel guitar and b-bender type effects. Also, even though he's primarily an electric player, you should check out Steve Morse's acoustic stuff. incredible player and can do/adapt to any style.

I've never been much into the electric guitar. When listening to music I am always more entranced by mostly bass and drums.

With that said, that guy was definitely amazing, though I bet Scarboar could school him on MMO themed songs. =P

Are you in Austin Ishto? I keep threatening to have a mini-bbq here, there's a small handful of folks near here.

Dude I could school Tommy E. at nothing guitar related except for Guitar Hero (but that's no real guitar so it doesn't really count anyways) I bet. I have no real skills when it comes to the guitar anymore, I almost never play nowadays, no more college nights of stupidity with Hoeser where we would jam all the time and make up nonsense.

Still to this day I listen to those tunes though and man, I just about shit my pants laughing at how funny a couple of them are, The Agony Epic especially. It's classic all the way through, so many great little references. I actually started playing EQ again like last week, it's pretty entertaining again I must admit but I'm not sure how into it I can get at this point. I was in a raid that did Fennin Ro with 20 and a Paladin tanking last night, just kinda makes me chuckle.

not in austin anymore; i moved back to colorado. I did have a music career for years there, though, and wouldn't mind taking a road trip back! 8) I miss certain things...the music, stubb's bbq, rudy's bbq, 6th street and all the great friends.
