There's a big damn transformer under that thing (it's generating what looks to be 4+ meter arcs). Sniff, I remember when you could go to an electronics store and buy all this stuff on any given weekend, now I don't even know of one near me.
(I never would have thought of modulating the freq to hit resonant multiples as a method of generating music, kudos to them).
