Teen Repellent (seriously)

Postby Adrienna » Wed Apr 23, 2008 2:28 pm

Saw a story about this on CNN. I got a really good laugh out of it, but it's not a joke. :)

If they weren't so expensive (around $1500), I would buy a couple for the cars! Just aimlessly drive around the grocery store parking lot on Saturday night. Man, that would be so much fun.

I can usually hear those things... and I'm fuckin' 34.

It's the same shit as sound based cat and dear repellent devices... and they annoy the crap out of me.

Because my kids aren't hard enought to drag around the store when we're shopping, I'd love to have something else to agitate them.

Supposedly it doesn't work on children under 10. And it wouldn't be inside the store, just in places where teens loiter without their parents.

Also, kids are now using these sounds as ringtones for their cell phones, so they can get texts and stuff in class. Since the teacher can't hear it, kids can text all day in class. I remember when I was a kid, we used to get in trouble for having walkmans (cassette type, mind you) on school grounds.

I was reading about this last night too and honestly I wouldn't fault *any* kid for trying to smash these things to pieces. If it were me, I would do it and claim self-defense because it *is* an attack. Oh well.

So it repels kids AND Kommisar?

I'm still waiting for the downside.

Shotguns are a good way to clear out the places where teens loiter. A few blast to the legs and they wont run away either...
