It was a good publicity stunt if you ask me. They just got over 100,000 people to watch a segment of some stupid parade that they probably wouldn't give a rat's ass about under normal circumstances (like me).

I had just turned the TV on not three minutes before this happened. I heard Rick Asley and though "what the hell", then changed the channel. I didn't stick around for the "rickrolling" joke but it would have been lost on my anyways. Before I read this thread I had never even heard of that. Well, not that particular incarnation of false links to crazy shit. There was a bad one going around linked to a David Hasselhoff bikini brief url... *shudder*.
